7th Annual Mr. Lake Murray Tournament
The first serious cold front of the year may have kept some anglers away. However 22 teams
did come out on this cold Saturday to compete in the 7th annual Mr Lake Murray open bass
tournament hosted by TBF ( The Bass Federation) of South Carolina. Cold fronts can cause big
changes in fishing. It can either shut things down or get them feeding up for winter. Today
there were enough hungry bass to make for an interesting day. Many bass were caught but
some teams had difficulty finding the better quality fish.
The team that did was Sean Anderson and George Berry. Their 5 bass limit weighing 21.55 lbs
took first place honors and a check for $1100. Shallow crankbaits were reported to be their
approach to their winning catch.
With a respectable 2nd place finish was Chris Morrison and Travis England at 21.10 lbs. Third
place the father and son team of Steve and Andy Wicker at 16.19 lbs. Rounding out the top four
Phillip Anderson and Andy Lake 15.67 lbs. Big Bass of the event honor and $200 went to Regi
Floyd and Chucky Bradford with their 5.41 lb. largemouth.
TBF appreciates all those that come out each year for their support. For more information
